Our Programmes & Overview

History and the Humanities promote certain values, these values and good citizenry are critical in the mandate of Humanities for children and young people. Through meaningful authentic experiences learners can become more responsible, reflective and active citizens who can make informed choices.

Our programmes mutually compliment Citizenship education in supporting the holistic development of a child and a quest for a more peaceful society.

Historical stories can inspire individuals to greatness. We remember brilliant people and their heroic acts that have changed the shape of nations. Children get a huge amount of motivation from learning about inspirational events that make up where we are today. It only takes one great story to light up a child’s imagination. History is not about memorising a list of facts or dates, its the study and connection of people and events that take into account ethnic groups, social trends, religions, philosophy and political orientation.

Through our extensive Humanities programme Children & Young People will increase their knowledge about local heritage, citizenship values and Human Rights whilst improving their own wellbeing. Finding out about the human experience in our local area, Wales and the World will help children discover their own heritage and help them to understand the ethnic and cultural diversity in Wales.

The Arts and Humanities define who we are as people. That is their power – to remind us of what we each have to offer and what we all have in common. To help us understand our History and imagine our future, to give us hope ….. To bring us together.

Our workshops are suitable for Children and Young People from schools, youth groups and families. One off workshops can be booked or a series of workshops that cover half a term,a term or a year.

All our programmes enrich and enhance New Curriculum ideology. We can also design workshops around themes and topics you are covering in school.
